Man Arrested for Breaching Bail within Hours of Being Released on Bail

A Guelph man released on bail Monday for weapons and property crimes was arrested early Wednesday for breaching his conditions.

Approximately 12:50 a.m. Wednesday police attended a west-end apartment building after receiving a complaint about a suspicious person. During their investigation they located a male who had been released on bail Monday with a condition not to attend that address.

He had been arrested in April after 16 vehicles in the building’s parking lot had tires slashed, then was arrested again May 6 after witnesses saw him riding his bike downtown with a rifle sticking out of his backpack. It was later determined to be a BB gun. He was released Monday on bail on all those charges.

A 35-year-old Guelph man was arrested Wednesday for failing to comply with a bail order and breaching a probation order. He was held for another bail hearing Wednesday.
