Man Arrested for Violating Parole in Guelph

A Brantford man was arrested in Guelph Thursday for violating his federal parole conditions.

Approximately 10:30 a.m. Guelph Police Service officers observed a Ford pickup in a Speedvale Avenue East parking lot and were aware the owner is a federal parolee for charges including sexual interference and making child pornography. Officers contacted officials with the Brantford Parole and Probation office, who confirmed the male is not allowed to be in Guelph without permission.

Members of the OPP’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad were contacted and attended Guelph. The 63-year-old Brantford male was located in a residence nearby and taken into custody for violating his parole. He was transported to the Maplehurst Correctional Complex.
