Man Stabbed in Neck at West-end Business

A Guelph man faces assault and weapons charges after another man was stabbed in the neck early Saturday.

Approximately 12:25 a.m. Saturday police received several reports of a stabbing at a licensed establishment on Silvercreek Parkway North. Emergency personnel arrived to find an adult male with a serious injury. The suspect had fled the scene.


The victim was transferred to an out-of-town trauma centre with a serious but not-life threatening injury. A suspect was identified and arrested outside his residence just after 2 a.m. The two males were not known to each other.

A 35-year-old Guelph man is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
