Man Suffers Laceration on Face from Downtown Assault
A Guelph man was arrested after another man was injured in a downtown assault early Monday.
Approximately 2:45 a.m. an adult male was outside a downtown establishment when he became involved in a verbal altercation with another male. The second male struck the victim in the face with an unopened canned beverage, causing a laceration next to the victim’s eye which immediately began to bleed.
The suspect fled but was located a short time later at a residence in the south end and arrested.
A 33-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault with a weapon. He will appear in court February 6.
