MTO Shuts Down Peel Driving School in Guelph and Brampton

A Guelph driving school is now without a license after a firm ruling from the province. The decision affects multiple locations and raises questions about what comes next for the company’s commercial training programs.

The Ministry of Transportation has revoked the driving school license for Peel Driving School’s Guelph branch, calling the move a permanent action and describing the school as a “bad actor.”

The decision, confirmed by the province, applies to both the Guelph and Brampton locations. The ministry did not disclose what prompted the sanction but said in a statement that Ontario is taking a firm stance on misconduct connected to driver training and licensing.

Peel Driving School, which advertises services across the GTA, operates alongside Peel Truck Driving School at the same Woodlawn Road address in Guelph. The truck-training arm offers commercial licensing programs including AZ, DZ and air-brake instruction under a separate website.

A representative for the school, who declined to provide their name, said they are currently in discussions with provincial officials and considering an appeal. They did not comment on what the license revocation means for the truck-driving programs or provide information on what led to the ministry’s decision.
