Guelph Ribfest attendees will need to use alternative transportation this year, as no public parking will be available at Riverside Park. The change comes after organizers were unable to secure the 40 to 50 volunteers typically required to manage parking for the three-day event.
The decision was made to prioritize efficiency, with available spaces reserved for vendors, volunteers, sponsors, dignitaries, and essential personnel.
Marilyn Drive will be closed at Woolwich Street, with access restricted to residents and those requiring accessible parking. To accommodate visitors, a free shuttle will run between Guelph Central Station and the park every 30 minutes on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. On Friday and Sunday, Guelph Transit’s Route 99 Mainline will service the event.
Organizers do not expect the lack of on-site parking to impact attendance.
