A Puslinch Township teen died after a collision involving a minivan on Wellington Road 29. As the investigation continues, police are asking the public to avoid speculation and share only verified information.
Wellington County OPP are asking people to check the source of information before sharing posts, photos or videos about the death of a 16-year-old pedestrian in Centre Wellington.
The Puslinch Township teen died following a collision involving a minivan on Wellington Road 29, south of Eramosa-Garafraxa Town Line, shortly after midnight on Saturday, September 19.
Police say unverified material circulating online or in the community could cause unnecessary concern and affect the ongoing investigation. They are urging the public to avoid speculation and rely on official updates. Police have not identified any specific claim in their appeal.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is investigating under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, alongside the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Pathology Service. OPP Forensic Identification Services is also assisting.
