Orangeville-Area Man Arrested on Dozens of Charges

An Orangeville-area man faces dozens of charges after Guelph Police Service officers stopped a stolen vehicle and recovered thousands of dollars in cash and drugs.

Just after 1 p.m. Monday, officers observed a stolen Mazda being operated on Woolwich Street. The vehicle was followed until it came to a stop and the driver got out. He was arrested after a brief foot pursuit, during which he was observed to be discarding property which was later recovered.

During a search incident to arrest, officers located suspected cocaine, fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and prescription opiates with a total value of approximately $12,000 and more than $4,300 in cash.


Also recovered was drug paraphernalia, bear spray and several pieces of stolen identification and mail.

A 27-year-old man from East Garafraxa faces more than three dozen charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing stolen property and numerous counts of breaching court orders. He was held for a bail hearing November 28.
