Police rarely investigate people trying to break into a jail, but that was the case Sunday morning when officers were called to the former Guelph Correctional Centre.
Just before 4 a.m., security at the York Road site called after spotting three individuals on camera breaking into a fenced compound. Several officers responded.
A gate had been cut and pulled back, allowing access to the fenced area. A broken window was also located though no entry was gained. The suspects, described as three people in dark clothing, were not located.
Anyone with information is asked to call Constable Jay Hall at 519-824-1212, ext. 7136, email him at jthall@guelphpolice.ca, leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
