Police Investigating Male with a Hatchet

On July 10th, 2023, just prior to 10:37pm, an adult male walked through the drive-thru of a business located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Imperial Road North in the City of Guelph and requested a free coffee from staff.

When he was denied, he reached for the debit machine in an attempt to remove it. Staff members recovered the machine, and the male began walking to the entrance of the business.

A staff member quickly locked the door, preventing the male from entering. He then brandished a hatchet, waving it over his head.

He left the area riding a blue bicycle and carrying bags a short time later.

The male is described as:

• Caucasian
• 35 years old
• Brown hair
• Wearing a black top, jeans and white shoes
