Prohibited Driver Arrested with Open Alcohol

A Guelph woman was arrested Sunday after she was caught driving while prohibited.

Sunday afternoon, officers were patrolling in the area of Beaver Meadow Drive and Haney Drive when they spotted a female known to be a prohibited driver as a result of a Criminal Code conviction.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested. While speaking to her, officers detected an odour of alcoholic beverage and could see an open can of alcohol in the console. The female provided a breath sample which registered a pass.

A 40-year-old Guelph woman is charged with driving while prohibited. She will appear in a Guelph court September 8, 2023. Her vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
