A Guelph man has been arrested two months after his roommate was attacked during a dispute over smoking.

On September 15, police were called to a Janefield Avenue address. An adult male said he was smoking outside when he was confronted by a roommate about smoke coming into through the roommate’s window.

During the confrontation the victim was struck in the head and face with a metal prybar, causing a laceration which required stitches. He also lost two teeth when he bit the roommate’s arm to avoid being choked.

On Friday a 37-year-old Guelph man turned himself in to police. He is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court January 9.
