Shoplifting Investigation Leads To Drug Charge

On June 14th, 2023, at 8:39am, police were contacted by an employee from a store located near the intersection of Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street North in the City of Guelph, regarding an adult female who they had just stopped from shoplifting merchandise.

Just after 9am, police located the female a short distance away from the store.

Further investigation revealed that she was currently on court conditions not to attend to that store.

At 9:05am, the female was arrested.

A search incident to arrest revealed 13.95 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine.

A 33-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:

  • Possession Of A Controlled Substance – Schedule I
  • Breach Judicial Release Order
  • Breach Probation

She was held for a bail hearing and subsequently released.

She will appear in court on June 20th, 2023.
