A stolen vehicle was recovered and a male arrested following an investigation Monday.
Just before 3 p.m. members of the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) Unit observed a male driving a 2020 Ford Edge in the area of Neeve Street and Fountain Street. After the vehicle was parked, officers approached the vehicle and were able to confirm it was stolen.
A short time later the male was seen walking back towards the vehicle and using a key fob to unlock it. He was arrested without issue. A small amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine and property including identification in various names was located inside the vehicle.
A 25-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000, two counts of possessing stolen property under $5,000, three counts of possessing identity documents and breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
