Suspicious Fire in Vacant House Under Investigation

The Guelph Police Service and Guelph Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire in a vacant house Thursday morning.

Approximately 8:15 a.m. a witness called 911 to report thick smoke coming from a house on Gordon Street south of Arkell Road. The house is vacant and is located on property scheduled for redevelopment. No one was located on site and no injuries were reported.


Firefighters located evidence inside which suggested unknown parties had been in the house. The cause of the fire and a damage estimate have not been determined.
