Teen Female Arrested on Breaches & Weapons Charges

A Guelph female faces several charges after her arrest early Wednesday.

Police were called for a suspicious person at an address near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue West and could hear a male telling someone to leave through the patio. Officers checked the area and found a female hiding outside.

Investigation revealed the female was wanted for breaching a release order and failing to appear in court. She was placed under arrest, and a subsequent search revealed a spring-assisted knife on her person.

A 17-year-old Guelph female is charged with failing to attend court, failing to comply with a disposition and unauthorized possession of a weapon. She was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
