A Guelph male already facing impaired driving charges had his vehicle seized indefinitely after he was arrested again Wednesday evening.
Approximately 6:35 p.m. police were advised of a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue West. Officers observed the vehicle as it mounted a curb on Norfolk Street, driving close to pedestrians waiting in the area.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was showing signs of impairment, including slurred speech and an odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath. Investigation revealed the male currently has impaired driving charges before the courts.
A 58-year-old Guelph male is further charged with another count of impaired driving and dangerous driving. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was seized indefinitely under the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in a Guelph court June 27, 2023.
