A Barrie man is charged with assault after another man was attacked during a child exchange Wednesday.
Just after 2 p.m. police were called to a parking lot on Silvercreek Parkway North. A number of parties had met to exchange custody of two children aged eight and five. During the meeting two males began insulting each other before one repeatedly struck the other, causing lacerations to his cheek and head.
A Guelph man in his 20s was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police located the second man still on scene.
A 29-year-old Barrie man is charged with assault causing bodily harm. He will appear in court September 23.
