Police say a confrontation inside an east-end apartment building quickly escalated when a stranger demanded a resident’s ring and pulled out a weapon. What happened next led to a quick arrest and charges laid the same evening.
A Guelph man is charged with robbery after another man was confronted in the lobby of his apartment building.
Approximately 5:35 p.m. Friday police were called to a building in the city’s east end. The victim in his 30s said he was approached by a stranger who asked him to hand over his ring. When the victim refused the other man pulled out a weapon and lunged at him.
After a brief physical struggle the victim fell down and the other man ran away. Police located the suspect a short time later after a nearby resident called to report someone knocking on her door and trying to get into the home.
