West-end Theft and Obstruct Charges for Guelph Woman

A Guelph woman faces theft and obstruction charges after police were called Thursday morning to a west-end business.

Just after 11:30 a.m. staff of a business on Silvercreek Parkway North confronted a woman about removing tags from merchandise and placing items in her bag. The woman responded by pulling off more tags while swearing at staff, before leaving the store.

The woman was arrested a short distance away and provided a name later determined to be fake.

A 33-year-old Guelph woman is charged with theft under $5,000 and obstructing police. She will appear in court April 2.
