Consider stocking up on essentials before Labour Day might be wise, as most key grocery and retail outlets in Guelph will not be operational on Monday.
This includes major stores like Walmart, Stone Road Mall, and Canadian Tire. Additionally, the LCBO will be shut down for the holiday, although Beer Store locations on Woodlawn Road and Silvercreek Parkway North will welcome customers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A few pharmacies will remain open on Monday for your convenience. However, public facilities such as City Hall, libraries, and community centers, along with the Sleeman Centre and River Run Centre, will be closed. On the bright side, all splash pads and wading pools in Guelph will be accessible, except for the Northview Park location, which is undergoing maintenance.
For those concerned about waste management, note that garbage collection will be postponed by a day during the week starting September 4th. Moreover, all offices governed by provincial or federal regulations, including banks and post offices, will also be closed.
As for public transportation, Guelph Transit will offer on-demand services for all routes on Monday, except for Route 99, which will maintain a 30-minute frequency. GO Transit will follow a Sunday schedule for the day.
