Congratulations to Tamara Graham, a dedicated teacher at John F. Ross CVI, for being recognized with Humber College’s Greatest High School Teacher Award!
Each year, Humber College invites its current students to nominate a high school teacher who made a meaningful impact on their education. This year, former John F. Ross student Samantha Hilson submitted a heartfelt essay nominating Ms. Graham—and won.
As part of the award, Hilson receives a $500 gift certificate to the Humber College bookstore, and both she and Ms. Graham are invited to attend a special awards ceremony in recognition of this honour.
As the recipient of Humber College’s Greatest High School Teacher Award, Tamara Graham will have the special opportunity to select a student from John F. Ross CVI to receive a full tuition scholarship to Humber College, awarded in her name.
Reflecting on the honour, Graham shared, “I felt flattered that a student felt strongly enough to write such a wonderful essay about me and that I had such an influence on her.”
In her winning 500-word essay, Samantha Hilson described how Graham “possessed the remarkable ability to make each student feel uniquely valued,” and praised her for having a “teaching style [that] transformed mundane projects into engaging tasks.”
Graham also expressed how meaningful it is to play a role in changing another student’s life through the scholarship. “It’s an honour to make such a huge difference in a Ross student’s life with the gift of a full scholarship,” she said.
