As of May 1, the City of Guelph has relocated its four automated speed enforcement cameras (ASECs) to new sites as part of its ongoing road safety initiative. The ASECs automatically capture images of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit, issuing tickets to the vehicle’s registered owner. These infractions do not result in demerit points.
The current camera locations are:
- École Arbour Vista Public School on Zaduk Place
- Meezan School of Guelph on Water Street
- École L’Odysée School on Brighton Street
- Westminster Woods Public School on Goodwin Drive
These devices are scheduled to remain at these sites until August 1, when they will be relocated again. At that time, the number of active cameras will increase from four to twelve. While the current cameras are rotated every three months, the upcoming expansion will introduce permanent and semi-permanent locations as part of the broader rollout.
Previously, the cameras were placed near Rickson Ridge Public School, Waverley Drive Public School, St. Peter Catholic School, and Ottawa Crescent Public School.
