A man and woman each face assault and weapons charges following a disturbance between roommates Friday night.

Just after 9 p.m. police were dispatched to an address near Willow Road and Flaherty Drive. Investigation revealed two roommates were arguing about rent money when one brandished a pair of scissors and uttered a threat. The second roommate pulled out a knife and began motioning in an aggressive manner.

A 41-year-old Guelph man and 24-year-old Guelph woman are each charged with assault with a weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The man is also charged with uttering threats. Both will appear in court January 23.
