Guelph Man Shortchanged in Truck Sale

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a local man was shortchanged while selling his pickup.

Approximately 7 p.m. Monday, the man in his 60s agreed to meet a potential buyer at a business on Woodlawn Road West. Four males arrived in a black Honda SUV to look at the victim’s white 2008 Toyota Tundra.

After a test drive they agreed on a sale price of $5,000. One of the men handed the victim cash while the others were removing the licence plates from the truck. The males quickly drove off with the truck while the victim was still counting the cash, which only amounted to $2,500.
