Guelph General Hospital is gearing up in preparation for some exciting changes to improve Emergency Services.
If you need help at our Emergency Department, starting on January 27th, please be aware of the following:
- The current driveway in front of Emergency will be for ambulances only.
- A new patient drop-off driveway has been built next to the current one, with signage directing you there.
- There will be a longer walk to Emergency Triage so wheelchairs are provided in a shelter near the driveway and inside the hospital’s Delhi Street entrance.
- An Emergency contact pedestal, providing access to Emergency staff, is near the patient driveway if you need immediate medical assistance when you arrive.
- Emergency Department parking is located in the lot in front of 73 Delhi Street.
- Stairs outside the building that go from the main entrance and parking lot up to the Delhi Street entrance and Emergency will be permanently closed the morning of February 3rd. Please access that side of the hospital through the Main Entrance.
- Demolition to the exiting Ambulance Bay will begin on February 5, a new flow for patients arriving by ambulance has been established and our emergency service partners are aware.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare for these changes that will help us serve you better.
