Police Looking for Suspect in South-end Assault

The Guelph Police Service is looking for the public’s assistance as it investigates an assault earlier this month at a south-end business.

Shortly before 1 a.m. April 14, police received a report of an assault outside a business near Gordon Street and Clair Road East. An adult male reported he attended another business a few hours earlier and spent time talking to and sharing drinks with a couple unknown to him.

The three then went to another nearby restaurant where they continued to drink before all leaving at the same time. Outside, the victim remarked to the other male that he had been rude to some of the staff, prompting the other male to punch him in the face.

The suspect was described as white with a short, stocky build, large dark beard, dark hair and wearing a dark shirt. He and the female were last seen leaving in a white Ford F-150, travelling east on Clair Road East. Police would like to speak to the male in the attached photo.

Anyone with information or who recognizes the male is asked to call Constable Keith Kolodziejczak at 519-824-1212, ext. 7452, email him at kkolodziejczak@guelphpolice.ca, leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
